WRECK HEAVEN SHIPWRECKS OF THE CARIBBEAN
Written & Photographed by Jason Giannaras

Wreck Heaven started a suggested project, an idea from a fellow diver many years ago who saw my love for shipwreck photography. I took up this suggestion in a 5-year time span that covered 13 islands and over70 wreck sites. The Covid-19 Pandemic was also going on halfway through the project shutting down islands for months and even years. After these borders were opened, I was able to complete the sites that I need and felt as “must see” for the average scuba diver. In all, 125 dives were completed some were lucky enough to only be seen on one dive, others needed to be repeated due to poor weather or visibility. In general, I was able do these wrecks without any issue, especially where the conditions are generally good. Along the way, meeting dive shop owners is something I will never forget which created friendships and was able to help me get to all the shipwrecks for this book. The goal here is to show the novice/advanced scuba diver the best shipwrecks to dive in the Caribbean. It was done in a way to show full wide-angle photos of the wrecks along with history of the ships, and what to expect while diving the site. A few of the wreck sites are not on any map and is dived on by very few shops. Most of the information about the wrecks are local knowledge from dive shop owners and the divers themselves. It was a real treat to see and document wrecks that were almost forgotten. There is hope that the interest in some of these places will come back to life.

REVIEW:
"Jason has travelled to the locations and has captured amazing photos of all these wrecks and provided detail on each. If you are dreaming of Caribbean diving, or are a veteran diver of the region, this book is for you. Maybe you will be picking it up frequently from your coffee table, looking at these photos and remembering your amazing dives. Or maybe this is your checklist to visiting these wonderful islands and diving the wrecks in the amazing Caribbean waters. For me, it’s time to start booking flights to check off the few wrecks I have not seen. Safe and happy diving!"
