Wreck Heaven is the result of a five-year project that took Giannaras on 125 dives, from Aruba and the Bahamas to Grenada, Roatán and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The work continued through the pandemic, when island borders closed for months and in some cases years. Along the way, he worked closely with local dive shop owners, whose first-hand knowledge fills in the history of many of the sites.

"The goal here is to show scuba divers, from novice to advanced, the best shipwrecks to dive in the Caribbean," said Giannaras. "A few of the wreck sites are not on any chart and are dived by very few shops. It was a real treat to see and document wrecks that were almost forgotten."

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Jason Giannaras has been diving for more than 25 years and has seen over 150 shipwrecks around the world, from the Red Sea, Truk Lagoon and Palau to Long Island Sound, the St. Lawrence River and the Caribbean. His fascination with shipwrecks began as a child with the discovery of the Titanic. Ever since, he has photographed every shipwreck with a story he could reach.
