We recently caught up with Dr. Paul Claus, course director for Hyperbaric Medicine 2015, and asked him to share some more details on what we can expect from this first-ever conference hosted by the Mayo hyperbaric team this April 17-18, 2015 in Rochester, MN.
Read below for all the details and listen to the two short podcast interviews with Dr. Claus as he goes in to depth about what you can expect at the conference and the expert faculty that you will learn from and meet.
PODCAST 2: Hyperbaric Medicine 2015 - Meet the Experts, An Introduction to the Expert Conference Faculty
PODCAST 1: Hyperbaric Medicine 2015 - What You Can Expect, A Conference Overview
Hyperbaric Medicine 2015 will address the following topics in depth:
- The importance of providing hyperbaric therapy to acutely ill patients in a hospital setting
- When a clinician should elect to provide hyperbaric therapy
- The logistics of how hyperbaric oxygen therapy is administered
- The mechanisms for providing support in failing or threatened flaps and grafts
- And much more!
The conference will also provide a review of the mechanisms of HBOT in a hospital setting and how HBOT supports healing through its preconditioning effect, as well as a discussion on published findings and literature.
Additionally, Dr. Claus let us in on a very special feature of the conference: they will be showcasing the results of a large research study conducted over the past several years on the treatment and closure of complicated lower extremity crush injuries with flaps and grafts supported with hyperbarics. Work on the research study is just being completed, and conference attendees will have the opportunity to meet the authors and principal investigators of that study and learn of the results in anticipation of its publication. This is a huge opportunity for attendees to get exposure to cutting edge research in hyperbaric medicine.
Each series of talks at the conference will be followed by a panel discussion where the audience will have an opportunity to personally ask questions to the expert lecturers. The conference organizers are encouraging attendees to come to the conference with their list of questions and cases to ask the experts. This is a great opportunity to personally interact with and learn from some of the world’s leading practitioners of hyperbaric medicine.
Special one-day pricing is now available! If you can only make one day of the conference, a special discounted rate is available.
*The one day rate is only available by calling to register. Please determine in advance if you will be attending Friday or Saturday. Call 1-800-323-2688
